Keith Robinson has been a lynchpin to the NYC comedy scene for a long time. Robinson, Philly native, has come up with all the greats and has the stories to prove. In addition, his resume is damn impressive, including Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn and Def Comedy Jam appearances, a half-hour on Comedy Central as well as writing credits for both The Wanda Sykes and Chappelle’s Show, Robinson isn’t known by the public as well as his famous friends but that doesn’t make him any less funny. Also, that might all change.
Robinson was on hand to watch one of his good friend Kevin Hart explode in superstardom yo might’ve caught him in Hart’s movie Laugh at My Pain. Now Hart is producing Robinson’s new stand-up special, Back of the Bus Funny. Hart and co will be taping Robinson’s stand-up special at the Gramercy Theater in NYC this Friday, March 30th at 7 and 10pm.
Here’s a clip of Keith talking about coming up and the origin of the idea of back of the bus funny.
