Every year, the names are announced of who is to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It’s not as easy as it may seem. First there’s the long nominating process and waiting period. Then if accepted, it comes with a hefty price tag of $50,000. So there’s a lot that goes into it.
The latest names were announced yesterday. And for 2022, there seems to be a lot of familiar comedy faces who are getting stars this year. Kenan Thompson, Ricky Gervais, Bob Odenkirk, and Byron Allen will be receiving stars in the television category, with Adam McKay receiving a star for the film category.
Other non-comedy names receiving stars include Francis Ford Coppola, Macaulay Culkin, Willem Dafoe, Salma Hayek, James Hong, Helen Hunt, Michael B. Jordan, Regina King, Ray Liotta, Ewan McGregor, Jason Momoa, Tessa Thompson and Carrie Fisher (posthumous), Greg Berlanti, Peter Krause, Holly Robinson-Peete, Norman Reedus, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jean Smart, Ming-Na Wen, Black Eyed Peas, George E. Clinton Jr., Ashanti Douglas, DJ Khaled, Avril Lavigne, Los Huracanes Del Norte, Martha Reeves, Ermias “Nipsey Hussle” Asghedom, Patti LuPone, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Jr., Angelica Vale, Richard Blade, and Michael Strahan.
