Kevin Camia looks to add a little “Color” to your comedy collection

Tomorrow sees the release of Kevin Camia’s sophomore album, Color. With his debut, Kindness, landing him on the iTunes Top 10 comedy albums of the year list (2010), we’re happy to invite Camia back into our ear buds.
Color, via Rooftop Comedy Productions, shows off Camia’s vulnerable side as he performs for a live audience at San Francisco’s Punch Line. Somewhat sad stories are what inspired this album and he has the audience successfully laughing at his emotional situations. That’s what comedy is all about anyway, right?!
There are a lot of “awwws” in the audience, but Camia doesn’t skip a beat and has them turning their sympathy into laughter very quickly. From a breakup after a 19-year relationship, to vividly describing his penis, being bullied as a child for playing the clarinet and drawing horses with girls in third grade- Camia has no trouble getting the audience on his side.
Camia has been referred to as a comic’s-comic because his performances take a good, hard look at the downside of life and spins it with positive humor and expressive storytelling. He has made audiences root for him on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, the Rooftop Aspen Comedy Festival, and various music and comedy festivals in the US. If you’re feeling sorry for yourself, for whatever reason, just don’t. Instead, pick up Color from this top notch comic and feel sorry for him instead! No really, he’s funny and doesn’t mind!
