Today, Kevin Hart was in a pretty major car accident and it sounds like he and the other passengers in the car are lucky to be alive.
According to multiple reports the accident happened just before 1am Sunday morning on the winding Mullholland Highway in the Malibu Hills. It appears the driver, Jared S. Black was going too fast in Hart’s 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, lost control of the vehicle and swerved off the road, and crashed into a gully 30 feet down off the highway. Smashing fencing and completely crushing the roof of vehicle in the process.
Police and rescue confirmed the vehicle was owned by Hart but Black was driving at the time of the accident, Hart and Black both suffered “major back injuries” while the third person in the car, Black’s fiance and Hart’s personal trainer Rebecca Broxterman did not require medical treatment. Black and Boxterman were pinned under the roof which had to be sawn off to free them. Black was airlifted to the UCLA Medical Center. Police say the alcohol was not involved in the accident. Us Weekly obtained a police report which stated Hart’s security took him to his nearby residence for medical attention but he later got treatment at the local hospital but as of right now, both the Black and Hart’s conditions are unknown.
According to TMZ, Hart posted a since-deleted video of him operating the same Plymouth Barracuda on Instagram burning rubber. Hart reportedly purchased the car for himself in July as a 40th birthday gift for himself.
