Kurt Braunohler is raising $50,000 to feed African families by jetskiing the Mississippi in new web series, “Roustabout”

500 Goats, plus 1000 chickens, equals jetski! What does that mean? Well it’s pretty obvious already, but it’s all a part of Kurt Braunohler‘s new mission to make the world a better place… one stupid thing at a time. Braunohler has made a name for himself being a great comedian, but also for his love of random, absurd acts. From signing fake author inscriptions in books, to tampering with stop signs, to last year’s Kickstarter project where Braunohler raised $4,000 to skywrite “How do I land?” over Los Angeles, Braunohler goes above and behind to be the bright spot in people’s day. Now, the comedian’s latest philanthropic endeavor asks everyone to, “get wet for goats.”
What does that mean? Again, pretty straight forward, but it’s a part of Braunohler’s new campaign to raise $50,000 to send 500 goats and 1000 chickens to families in Africa. Partnering with Heifer International, giving one family in Africa one goat and two chickens can dramatically change their lives by providing them with food to eat and food to sell. Where do jetskis fit into that? To help raise the money, Braunohler will be attempting to jetski from Chicago, IL to New Orleans, LA. ” I don’t even know if that’s possible,”Braunohler says his campaign video.
The trip will be filmed by Comedy Central as part of Braunohler’s much anticipated new web series, Roustabout. Starting on May 29, the CC crew will follow Braunohler’s week long personal cruise with pit stops to wash ashore (including St.Louis and Kaskaskia, IL) for stand-up shows along the way with the help of Kristen Schaal, Kyle Kinane, Wyatt Cenac, and Jon Daly.
So far the online portion of the campaign, via Indigogo, has raised 7% of their goal. To donate visit igg.me/at/jetski. Help support a wonderful cause in the most hilarious way possible.
