Here’s a fun fact for you… Kurt Sutter is the talented man behind the hit FX show Sons of Anarchy. For those unfamiliar, it’s a show about a motorcycle gang and their both legal and illegal dealings in a southern California town known as Charming. While Sutter has sat down and penned a lot of the gruesome plots and stories on the show, he at one point in his life was an aspiring stand-up comedian. In the latest episode of Made Man’s web series Speakeasy, host Paul F. Tompkins and Sutter discussed his jobs coming up in “the biz.” Sutter stated that he loved stand-up but it was, “too much work,” performing for people because he, “didn’t have the discipline to write and rehearse every day.” Sutter later added that with stand-up comedy, “there’s nothing quite as intimate as ‘do you like what I’m saying?'” The conversation about comedy begins around 2 minutes.
