Uncle BBQ is gearing up for brand new special, ladies and gentlemen. As announced last week on his Twitter and Tumblr, comedian Kyle Kinane is set to tape a stand-up special for Comedy Central on Saturday, August 16th in Athens, GA. Kinane will be performing two shows in one night at Athen’s great 40 Watt Club, with Luke Douglas Fields opening the shows.
This will be Kinane’s second special for Comedy Central after 2012’s brilliant Whiskey Icarus (still can’t help but reminisce anytime I’m near pancakes). In truth, there’s not much Uncle BBQ hasn’t done. He released his first critically acclaimed album Death of the Party in 2010, was named one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch,” had a Comedy Central Presents the following year, and has performed stand-up on Live at Gotham and Conan. More recently, Kinane appeared on Ari Shaffir’s web-series This is Not Happening, delivered one hell of a memorable performance on Drunk History, and has lent his voice to Comedy Central’s new show Triptank in addition to its commercial bumpers. A true Renaissance man indeed.
