Ladies and gentlemen, it’s 2018 and we’re talking about STYX and Larry the Cable Guy. Together, on the road, entertaining the masses. Larry doesn’t really need to tour, and to the best of our knowledge, has kinda just been lying low in the stand-up world since his 2016 joint stand-up special with Jeff Foxworthy. It’s fun when does a commercial here or voices a talking car there. But Larry is a comedian, the ultimate blue-collar comedian so it only makes sense that with he announces a big stand-up tour it not only makes you saw “wow” aloud, but this time there’s also a “huh?” in there as well.
Today in a joint press release Larry the Cable Guy and STYX announced a handful of tour dates they’re calling the Laugh. Rock. Seriously. tour. See, they’re even aware of the initial response that statement elicits. The tour spawned itself from Larry meeting STYX frontman Tommy Shaw at a convenience store in Sarasota, FL many moons ago. The desire to work together was started and now they made it happen.
“Ever since I ran into Tommy at a convenience store in Florida, I’ve always wanted to work some shows with the iconic band Styx,” said Larry the Cable Guy. “Not only because their music has been a soundtrack to my life, but also to try and get back the 18 bucks I loaned him for honey buns and coffee from that day in Florida.”
The run of shows happen March 2019 starting in Fargo, ND and ending in Champaign, IL. You can purchase tickets via Ticketmaster, the pre-sale for some dates begin Wednesday, November 28th at 10am local time. Public sale for all tickets begins Friday November 30th at 10am local time.
