Last night, late night hosts all sat down and took to their respective shows. Although it definitely didn’t feel like the show that they were planning on doing yesterday, given the events that transpired at the Capitol during the joint session of Congress. Instead, the shows had a more somber tone as they addressed the riots, the President’s reaction to said riots, and the overall session itself.
Also of note, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Late Night with Seth Meyers opted to broadcast live last night, in what feels like a last minute decision. And much to our surprise, none of the late night shows were preempted as the session was still taking place late into the morning.
