AN EVENING WITH KEVIN SMITH AT CHICAGO THEATRE
Heavy hitters arrived with their powerhouse routines as Just For Laughs Chicago delivered a stellar night of comedy. Inside the vast Chicago Theatre the dynamo Kevin Smith kicked off the night with a unique style of questions and answers from the audience. Fans filled the isle waiting for one of two microphones for their chance to ask Kevin questions about his career, life, and everything in between.
“Do what you love” was a common theme that Kevin relayed to his followers.
Fans were receptive to Kevin’s stories as he discussed his podcast SModcast, Clerks, comic books and detailed stories about his family life. Many fans patiently waited in line to talk to Kevin as some of his answers took over 20 minutes to respond. Smith clearly cares about his fans as his answers were most honest and sincere.
Next on deck was the home run hitter Hannibal Buress.
HANNIBAL BURESS: STILL SAYING STUFF AT PARK THEATRE
The Chicago native continues to do good for the community as all proceeds of the show went to St. Paul Lutheran School, the school he attended on the west side. Even though proceeds were going to a good cause he didn’t attempt to censor his routine.
Stories of past confrontations filled his set as the audience was extremely receptive to his hilarious tales. From punching gang members trying to steal his $20 watch to getting in skirmishs over having scramble eggs opposed to fried eggs, Hannibal delivered nothing but grand slams to his hometown crowd.
T.J. MILLER PRESENTS PERFORMANCE ANXIETY AT UP COMEDY CLUB
Inside The Second City’s UP Comedy Club, T.J. Miller hosted his bi-weekly Los Angeles based show Performance Anxiety. Exciting news for Chicagoans is that the LA-based show is expanding to the windy city and will be a regular show at none other than the Pleasure Chest – a top notch sex shop.
T.J. had a fun time interacting with the crowd as he transitioned between comedians Mike Lawrence, Sean Flannery, and Bret Ernst.
