Comedy podcasting company, GaS Digital and it’s wildly popular podcast Legion of Skanks has been hosting an NYC-based comedy festival called Skankfest for the last 3 years. The festival got so popular that they’ve decided to expand outside of NYC and take the festival to Texas with the announcement of Skankfest South. A three day comedy party in Houston that’s happening March 27-30th at The Secret Group in Houston, TX.
Billed as “more a comedy party than a festival” this three day festival really lives up to its name, booking the best of the best comics whose only requirement to perform is that they are funny. The festival is the brainchild of comedian Luis J. Gomez – part-owner of GaS Digital and co-host of Legion of Skanks – and his production partners Christine Evans (The Bonfire) and Rebecca Trent (The Creek And The Cave). And it showcases everything you’d love about a comedy party, stand-up, carnival games, live podcasts, a Goddamn Comedy Jam, meet & greets, tattoos, karaoke, food and drink. If the last one in NYC is any indication, you might even see some wrestling matches go down as well.
The pre-sale for Skankfest burned up in just hours with the initial announcement of comedians earlier this week. But the good news is the public onsale is happening now and you can get 3-day and single day passes now at www.skankfest.net.
