Don Rickles began his career way back in the 1950s and 60s and is still going strong today at the age of 87! This just proves that comedy is ageless. Rickles is best known for his venomous brand of insult comedy that has impressed the likes of Frank Sinatra, Johnny Carson, and many other famous artists. Rickles also has an impressive history of acting as well, appearing on shows such as The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Munsters, The Addams Family, The Mothers-in-Law, Gilligan’s Island, Get Smart, The Andy Griffith Show and I Dream of Jeannie.
Don has been delivering comedy for years and finally he will be getting a taste of his own medicine. On May 28th he will be roasted by fellow comedians David Letterman, Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Stewart, Jimmy Kimmel, and Bob Newhart who will be “entertaining and celebrating” the 87 year old comic. Many other big name comics such as Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese, Tracy Morgan, John Stamos, Regis Philbin, Ray Romano, and Brad Garrett will be attending this event to pay honor to the man’s legendary career. The 90 minute show will be taking place at the historic Apollo Theater in New York City two days before Rickles 88th birthday.
One Night Only will air on Wednesday, May 28th at 9pm ET on Spike TV.
