Earlier this month, we discovered that Louis C.K. – who was certainly one to frequent The Comedy Cellar – donated $30,000 to its GoFundMe page to help take care of the club’s staff during this shutdown.
Today, Time revealed that C.K. had made another donation on March 4th, to the campaign of Presidential hopeful, Joe Biden. This was the night following Biden’s sweep on Super Tuesday, and his donation, made under his real name of Louis Szekely can be found in the Federal Election Commission records.
However, we’re also now finding out that C.K.’s donation has been swiftly refunded to him. The spokesperson for Biden told Time that the donation had been refunded before declining any further explanation.
Almost certainly, this is a move that has something to do with C.K.’s past and accusations of sexual misconduct, which he acknowledged and apologized for back in 2017.
