Marlon Wayans to launch comedy website that promises to be the “In Living Color” of the web

Marlon Wayans has his sights set on creating a brand new comedy website. Wayans will call his site whatthefunny.com, and hopes that it will become the In Living Color of the web. Funny or Die founder Randy Adams will be assisting Wayans in this venture, and has said that he has funded the site with his own money. Current plans for the website will be to make five to ten minute video shorts before the site actually launches. New, originally series are set to also be made for the site upon going live.
Wayans wants his new site to be the “playground for my family and for all comedians who have something funny they want to do.” He has reached out to former co-stars of the hit 90’s show In Living Color, as well as other comedians, to contribute to the site. None have confirmed yet, however. What the Funny is supposed to breed life into projects that Wayans and other comedians have created, but have no way of releasing beyond personal websites. Hopefully, this is where some of the sketches from the now defunct re-launch of In Living Color would live and not script ideas for White Chicks 2.
The site plans to use a very structured format, with specific dates and times each week for new episodes of each series. It is scheduled to be fully online in either late 2013, or early 2014. You can visit What the Funny right now, and sign up to receive early content from the site before it goes online live.
