Mike Cannon is prepping for the release of his second stand-up special. The comedian and podcaster will drop White Priviledge Homeless next Wednesday, May 18th at 9pm ET on his Youtube channel. So set the calendars folks and tune in live at 9pm if you want to chat with the comedian in real time during the premiere.
This is the second special Cannon is dropping on his Youtube page, in January 2020 he dropped Life Begins right as the current trend of comics dropping specials on their Youtube pages was starting to take off and it showed Cannon just beginning his journey as a new father.
But since then a lot has happened not only in the world but in the comedians life. The arrival of COVID took the comedian’s family out of the city into the house with his in-laws (ya know, like the special’s title suggests, homeless) and all the experiences that culture clash brings.
Cannon filmed the special at the Triad Theater in New York City earlier this year and in addition to catching us up on his personal life the last two years, he also delivers takes on the fallacy of coffee consumption, the ambiguity of marijuana legalization in New York. Delivered with his comic style that simultaneously easygoing stoner with a hint of seething rage just below the surface.
“I’m extremely excited for people to watch my new special on YouTube. It’s free. It’s easy to find. And if you don’t like it you can always switch over to a Flat Earth documentary.” Cannon says about the release of the special.
White Privilege Homeless executive-produced by Cannon and directed and edited by John Sheridan of One 21 Productions.
Here’s a clip from the special where Cannon discusses the relatable moment for all dads when your son starts asking questions about their bodies.
