New Michael Cera movie, “Youth In Revolt” taps Bon Jovi, Old 97’s for its trailer

There’s a new movie featuring Michael Cera called Youth In Revolt. That news in and of itself isn’t really anything new. Because Cera has managed to make himself the posterboy for modern-day teenage Woody Allen-esque virgin awkwardness. Typecast, yes. But usually pretty funny.
The main reason we’re mentioning this is not that the movie is breaking any new ground in the genre Cera helped lay the foundation for, but the choice of Bon Jovi and the Old 97’s for the movie’s trailer. Not two bands that one would usually associate with the hip music usually used for these flicks. We do have to admit that it does sound slightly like they randomly hit shuffle on our iTunes and picked the first two artists that came up.
But we have to give props to where they are do for the makers of the movie deciding to use Rhett Miller & Co’s song, “Timebomb” in the latest trailer for the flick. Any exposure you can give to those Texans is good by me. Oh, and Zach Galifianakis is in it.
