We’ve actually made it a point to watch America’s Got Talent this season. While the first interest was in seeing how Howard Stern fared as a judge. But then some acts caught our interest. Most importantly, that comedian Tom Cotter auditioned and made it past the first round.
Then a funny thing happened… Cotter kept winning and earning more and more praise from the judges as he kept delivering jokes like the well-rehearsed pro he is.
Cotter kept beating out everyone from mariachi singing kids, people on bikes doing flips, a mentalist, and even a group of people that kept hitting each other in the nuts. As far as other comedians Cotter even competed against a 23 year old kid which is interesting because that’s probably about as long as Cotter’s been in the game.
Tonight between America’s voting and judges judging, Cotter found himself squared off against an act that had dancing dogs for the grand prize of $1 million dollars to headline a show at Las Vegas. Cotter ultimately lost to the dog show but still came in second place. Cotter’s response, “I’m going to fall down the stairs now and get my own million dollars.”
He may have not taken the top prize but damned if he didn’t do comedy proud.
Let’s revisit Tom’s audition…
