Earlier this year it was announce that the movie was slated for release in 2012. Fast forward a few months at NY Comic-Con this weekend where Justin Theroux the co-writer/potential director of the movie spoke with MTV. There he stated he and Ben Stiller were wrapping the script and it was essentially finished.
The idea this time around is that Derek and Hansel are older and not the center of the fashion world. They are “about to ring 40’s bell. They have to claw their way back into the fashion industry in some way or another.”
Theroux didn’t divulge much else but did mention that Will Ferrell’s Mugatu will return and a part has been written in for Jonah Hill to play a villain this time around.
