In some somber news, it looks like Kroll Show won’t be around for much longer. In an interview with Vulture, Nick Kroll reveals that the upcoming third season of his Comedy Central sketch show, Kroll Show, will be its last. While it wasn’t anyone’s original intention to make the third season the show’s final bow, the decision came during production when Kroll decided they had wrapped up a lot of characters and stories already.
“… as we started to get towards the end of the season, it just became clear that we wrapped up a lot of the stories and characters that we had created, and felt like we had brought a number of them to their natural conclusion. So, as opposed to stringing out more seasons, we wanted to feel like we were going out with the best work that we’ve done. As I’m sure you’ve watched a lot of shows you’ve loved continue to make shows because they could and the quality began to dwindle,” says Kroll in the interview.
While it’ll be sad to see Kroll Show end so soon, it’s going out for the right reasons. Season three premieres on Comedy Central on January 13th.
