New York comedian Nick Vatterott is recording a comedy album this Saturday for Comedy Central Records. Presented by Chicago Underground Comedy, Vatterott will be recording his album, entitled For Amusement Only, over two shows on June 14th at the Beat Kitchen in Chicago, IL.
Vatterott is a high-energy performer whose act is one of a kind. Once a Chicago resident himself, Vatterott was named “The Funniest Man in Chicago” by Chicago Magazine before leaving for NYC. Since then, Variety named him one of the “break-outs” at the 2010 Montreal Just For Laughs festival, and he nabbed the honor of winning the Andy Kaufman award the following year. He performed one of the most innovative and hilarious must-see sets on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, as well as a set on Conan. The comedian also appeared on the late-great Comedy Central stand-up/sketch series Mash-Up (for which he was also a producer/writer), and had his own Comedy Central Half Hour special in 2012. In addition, Vatterott hosts The Nick Vatterott Show podcast on Stand Up NY Labs.
Vatterott will be joined by Chicago comedians Sean Flannery and CJ Sullivan for two shows at 8pm and 10:30pm respectfully. Tickets to the recordings are available here. And if you’re near NYC, you can watch Vatterott run through his hour this week, Tuesday through Thursday, at The Creek and The Cave.
