It’s official, Will Ferrell announces “Anchorman” sequel!

March 28, 2012      Matt      Movies, News, Video, Will Ferrell

True story time, a friend and his wife are expecting their first child. They decided to name the boy Wesley and his brother is lobbying hard for the child’s middle name to be “Mantooth” as in Wes Mantooth, the enemy of Ron Burgundy in the movie Anchorman. Fast forward to today and two major events just happened. First, my friends welcomed their baby boy into the world, and second, Will Ferrell just made an appearance on Conan to reveal that after years of saying it wasn’t going to happen, a sequel to Anchorman is actually happening.

There is no way these cosmic events can happen without them being linked so I’m pretty sure I’m officially going to have to call the kid Mantooth for the rest of his life. Don’t blame me, blame Will Ferrell. So raise the glass of scotchy, scotch, scotch for Anchorman 2 and for baby Mantooth.

60% of the time this logic works every time.

UPDATE: Judd Apatow, Will Ferrell and Adam McKay will produce the movie for Paramount. McKay will direct, the script was written by him and Ferrell. Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd are returning.
