There seems to be a big overhaul at Saturday Night Live on the horizon. A few hints have come up – for starters, this past season (46) was the first in a while that no cast member left between seasons. Then, further speculation came this past weekend during the 46 finale Kenan Thompson, Cecily Strong, Kate McKinnon, and Aidy Bryant tearfully stood center stage during the cold open and delivered suggestive statements that it might be their last time there as cast regulars.
Now, Pete Davidson is also giving the impression that he will depart the show. n a newly released roundtable with The Hollywood Reporter, Davidson stated he’s planning on “hanging up his jersey.” When asked if he’d like to do the show as long as Kenan Thompson whose been on the show since 2003.
“I’m surprised I made it to seven,” Davidson retorted. “I’m ready to hang up the jersey. Kenan’s like f*ckin’ Karl Malone out there.”
As of right now, no official departures were been announced. Typically, most cast changes/additions are announced during the summer months, so only time will tell.
