Pete Davidson reacts to Steve Rannazzisi’s fabricated 9/11 story on Opie with Jim Norton radio show

September 16, 2015      Matt      Controversy, News, Opie With Jimmy, Pete Davidson, Steve Rannazzisi

News broke this morning that The League’s Steve Rannazzisi had fabricated a story about working in one of the Twin Towers on 9/11. The story is all over the place. This morning another comedian had responded the news and that is Saturday Night Live’s Pete Davidson. As many know, Davidson lost his own father on that day. This morning Davidson was on the Opie w/ Jim show on SiriusXM. Opie, Jim Norton, and eventually Elijah Wood analyzed Rannazzisi re-telling the story on Marc Maron’s podcast a few years back.

A conversation between Davidson and Rannzzisi then began on Twitter.

It's ok @SteveRannazzisi people make mistakes … Can't wait to meet my dad for lunch later

Rannazzisi thanked him for the support not knowing Pete’s story. A bit off point.

I think you missed the point … https://t.co/Fk9imfD6ut

All kidding aside this @SteveRannazzisi story sucks because he's actually a funny comic and I love The League. It's fucked up

The two spoke off social media and apparently things are cool between them.

Take it easy on @SteveRannazzisi … He reached out to me and is truly sorry. We all sometimes lie and exaggerate a story to seem cooler …
