Adult Swim cuts ties with “Rick and Morty” creator/star Justin Roiland after domestic abuse, grooming accusations

January 24, 2023      Andrew Buss      News, Rick And Morty, Television

Adult Swim has severed its relationship with creator/star of wildly popular TV show Rick and Morty, Justin Roiland. This is after news broke last week that Roiland is being charged with battery and domestic abuse. Since those stories became public, other allegations have surfaced including both grooming and rape accusations.

“Adult Swim has ended its association with Justin Roiland,” Adult Swim/Cartoon Network/Boomerang svp communications Mairie Moore said in a statement.

The roles of Rick and Morty – that Roiland voiced – is set to be recast, and production on the series will resume. Roiland’s other series, Koala Man, debuted on Hulu earlier this month. Its fate has not been reported on yet. Now Hulu has weighed in.
