Chelsea Peretti’s stepped behind the camera for the aptly-titled First Time Female Director. The indie film recently had its premiere at Tribeca Film Festival. Now, the film has distribution.
Roku has picked up the comedy, which Peretti wrote, directed, and stars in. Peretti plays Sam, “a newly minted female director who struggles to fill the shoes of her male predecessor, putting her Southern rural drama in jeopardy.”
The film was produced by Amy Poehler and co-stars Blake Anderson, Kate Berlant, Jak Knight, Megan Mullally, Benito Skinner and Meg Stalter.
No word yet on when the film will be released, other than it will be in 2024.
