While once again Miley Cyrus was the focal point of an MTV awards show, a San Diego news personality also made a splash. MTV hosted it’s annual EMA’s (the European Music Awards) this past weekend, and the legendary Ron Burgundy showed up. Ron decided to get in on the action by touring Amsterdam, where the awards were taking place. He chose to travel with who else, but Daft Punk? The group rode a three-person bike together and even went to go purchase some lovely clogs.
On his quest to learn more about the culture of Amsterdam, Ron took another tour through quite a different place – the red light district. While there, Ron walked inside of one of the “adults only” buildings to have an adult conversation with the owner about being gentlemen. Seeing a chair, he decided to stretch his back out. The only problem was that his chair was in the window and Ron wound up putting on quite the show for people passing by.
Finally, Ron made his way to the EMA’s where he met up with Eminem after he won the Global Icon Award. The two seemed to stumble a little through an awkward conversation as Eminem kept referencing the favorite “I love lamp” quote from the first Anchorman. Either way, it was still pretty funny, especially when Ron decided to bring up AfroJack to say he’d be talking smack about Eminem. Em responded by simply saying “who?”
Lastly, Ron headed back to the streets of Amsterdam where he decided to stop into a café for some coffee. While there, Ron found himself unable to resist a brownie and ate it. The video cut out and faded back in to see Ron leaving the coffee shop with one of Daft Punk’s helmets on his head.
And he also photobombed Kings of Leon.
