Ron White is retiring from stand-up after his 2022 tour

January 12, 2022      Andrew Buss      News, Ron White

Ron White is hanging up the mic once and for all by the end of 2022.

Yesterday, an article came out in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution where he announced his plans to retire from stand-up on New Years Eve.

“I don’t think it really makes sense to anybody but me,” White told the publication. “I’ve been doing this 37 years. I’ve loved the whole ride. I just feel like it’s time to put it down. I have a big year coming and that’ll be it.” He added “I’m in a good place in my life and comfortable with my decision.” White moved to Austin, Texas a few years back – where it was always his goal to retire to. So the thoughts of retiring has clearly been on his mind for some time.

Another thing fans point to is a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, where he talked about getting COVID. He mentioned that experience got him out of the road mind set – as White has been one of the most consistently touring comedians during his run as a comic. He added that he was afraid of dying in a hotel room on the road, which is totally understandable.

But for fans who wanna catch Ron White on tour this year, you can go here for tickets. Something tells us that if he’s going out, it’s gonna be with a bang!
