HBO is getting back into the Sarah Silverman business. Today, the network announced that Sarah Silverman has been tapped to deliver a new special for the network. In addition, she is also going to be producing a late night talk show pilot for the network.
Silverman describes the show as “weighing in on the mishigas of the week and taking live video calls.”
“I’m as passionate talking about my face-washing routine as I am talking about why billionaires cost us money,” Silverman continues in the statement. “Nothing’s off the table and nothing’s too high or low brow for me. I mean – look at my face – I’m literally all brow.”
“Sarah is truly a comedic force of nature and we’re so happy to have her back on HBO,” said Nina Rosenstein, executive VP of HBO Programming who announced the news today.
Sarah Silverman’s last venture on T.V. was the Emmy nominated show I Love You America on Hulu, which was not renewed earlier this year. Silverman’s last time teaming up with HBO was for her special We Are Miracles, which garnered her an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special.
It is unknown how different or similar this talk show will be from I Love You America, but it is safe to say that it will definitely be in line with everything we know and have come to appreciate about Sarah Silverman.
Silverman, Judd Apatow, and Amy Zvi are set to serve as executive producers for the pilot. More information on both the pilot and the series will be announced soon, according to the statement.
