There is certainly a level of difficulty to finding how to properly satirize the ongoing pandemic. When you’re dealing with tragedy, however, there are still some sections that you can find the comedy in if you look hard enough. And SNL managed to do that this weekend with the Rona Family.
The Rona Family is a literal family of COVID-19 viruses, all celebrating how much they’ve gone out and spread themselves among the family. It was one of those sketches that while the studio audience didn’t quite know what to make of it, people at home (and on Twitter) were definitely into it. Also, the herpes neighbors were a pretty great addition as well.
