Searching for Girl Scout Cookies with John Mulaney riding shotgun
January 20, 2011 Matt Kleinschmidt Features, John Mulaney, Saturday Night Live
It’s that time of year again…Girl Scout Cookie season! A pretty magical time of year if you ask me, a time when the female youth of American let the Thin Mints and the Samoas (whose lame new PC name I refuse to learn) fly.
I was randomly reminded through the social media grapevine that I needed to find a youngster with a beret and sash to score some Tagalongs. I sent a text to the older brother with two daughters, “So…is your kid old enough to sell her uncle Girl Scout Cookies yet?”…”No? They don’t allow 3 year olds to do that? Really? Sh*t! They should!”
Luckily enough the family and friend tree is big enough to give other options and within minutes an order was placed. Thoroughly satisfied this reminded me of the hilarious John Mulaney bit the comedian/writer has about the lovely cookie confections. Last year I caught him perform the bit live at Comix and then sure enough, he performed it during Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live a few weeks later.
John Mulaney, you have the floor, now pass the Do-Si-Dos.
