That’s right, the Canadian sketch comedy troupe is back! They will debut their new show Death Comes To Town on the IFC channel next week.
Different from their previous TV show in the 90’s, Death Comes To Town will be a scripted series about the Grim Reaper coming to a small Canadian town on a Greyhound bus and what happens after one of the town’s most distinguished citizens ends up dead shortly thereafter. All 5 kids are writing the series which was conceived by fellow kid Bruce McCulloch who will, along with Lorne Michaels, and the CBC, will be the show’s executive producers.
As with all KITH material, there’s going to be plenty of men dressing in drag and great ironic oddball humor. It’s a good thing that there will be new material coming from these guys, because I’m a bit tired of friends making “Office In A Submarine” jokes for the last 15+ years.
Death Comes To Town debuts on the IFC channel Friday, August 20th at 10pm. If you are around at 8pm on Thursday, August 12th, the cast will also be performing a live chat about the new show.
