Seth Meyers accuses Donald Trump of stealing jokes from “SNL”

March 24, 2017      Sam      Saturday Night Live, Seth Meyers, Television, Video

Given Donald Trump’s loudly proclaimed hatred for all things Saturday Night Live, it was pretty interesting that his recent TIME magazine interview featured an obvious classic quote from the show. “I’m the president, and you’re not,” he concluded to his interviewer, barely paraphrasing Chevy Chase’s iconic Weekend Update send-off, “I’m Chevy Chase, and you’re not.”

A former Update anchor himself, Meyers of course isn’t taking Trump’s joke theft lightly, he calls him out, and points out that “fake news” also got its start on update (under Norm McDonald).
