It’s an unfortunate truth that Alzheimer’s disease effects too many people. Well, we can now add Seth Rogen to the list as someone as well. Today, Rogen went before a Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health, and Human Services hearing on Alzheimer’s Research. There, he told the very personal story about how his mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in her 50s. Because of this Rogen started up the Hilarity For Charity fundraiser to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
Rogen’s speech was informative and touching, though not without humor. He kicked things off with a well-placed pot joke. He then manages to call himself a “self-medicating manchild,” and jokes about college kids with a joke about XBox One and Playstation 4. The kicker of the speech was probably the most honest, “I came here today for a few reasons. One, I’m a huge House Of Cards fan,” and the second part, “is to say people need more help.”
Watch the clip, it’s probably the best testimonial before congress since Stephen Colbert went to Washington.
