Former Saturday Night Live cast member Jane Curtin thinks John Belushi was sexist

I’m not really an Oprah watcher, but I have to say if I knew this was going down yesterday, I would have probably set the TiVo to record this episode.
Winfrey hosted a group of former cast members from Saturday Night Live such as Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Dana Carvey, Chevy Chase, and Jane Curtin.
They shared stories about their favorite sketches and spoke about a common fear for Lorne Michaels. Jane Curtin brought up an interesting point about the early years when she discussed the difficulties women had combating misogyny from other cast members such as John Belushi who once said that he felt women were fundamentally not as funny as men. Curtin stated he “felt as though it was his duty to sabotage pieces that were written by women.”
The topic then jumped to Fey who gave her take on the current state of the show, since there are now more female writers, directors, and staffers on the show. The shift Curtin and her female co-stars were looking for began to come later for Fey and others.
