Last night, stand-up / Baywatch star Hannibal Buress visited Stephen Colbert over at The Late Show, where he learned the hard way he was sitting in the host’s designated “splash zone.”
In the middle of telling Colbert about the weirdest moment he’s experienced (so far) as the official sidekick on The Eric Andre Show — it involves Nick Cannon and a naked old man — he reaches back to adjust a tag still attached to his jacket. Buress was pulling the old “buy it, wear it, return it the next day” trick — or, he was trying to, because nobody needs a $425 jacket, really. Colbert, admiring both the garment and Buress’s frugality, leaned over to look at the tag and poke some fun at the comic — and that’s when tragedy struck. Colbert accidentally knocked over his mug of water, spraying Buress’s jacket.
The two shared a huge laugh about it, diving right back into the interview and discussing Buress’s plans to move back to Chicago; we’ve got our fingers crossed the jacket made it back to the store safely.
Hannibal’s latest project, Baywatch, hits theaters this weekend.
