What surprises did our second day of SXSW bring? We started things off at Esther’s Follies to catch a live taping of Pete Holmes’ podcast, You Made It Weird and just who happened to drop in on the show along with Chris Gethard, Kumail Nanjiani, and Todd Barry? Why that would be the one and only Judd Apatow. Apatow told stories about his early days of stand-up, how he met his wife Leslie Mann while doing The Cable Guy, and how he puts his own life into his films.
After Pete made it weird, we met up with the one and only Robert Kelly and Gary Gulman both classy and funny men who just got into town to perform at The Laugh Button Live!. But before our comedy show, we headed to The Hype Hotel to catch some bands at The Syndicate’s Conflict Of Interest rager, have some refreshments, and get our hands on some of the new Taco Bell Doritos Locos Tacos!
At the massive party, we caught sets by Oberhorfer, Inca Abraham, Delta Spirit, Miniature Tigers, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., and definitely rocked out to an amazing set by Little Hurricane. It was a fun night of great music, lotsa laughs, and some great people. Booom!
