This sounds like something perfect for Bert Kreischer to host.
It’s been announced that TBS has ordered a full season order for a new extreme talent competition, Go-Big Show, that showcases supersized acts. The series is going to be hosted by Kreischer and feature a celebrity panel that features Snoop Dogg, Rosario Dawson, Jennifer Nettles, and AEW’s Cody.
The really interesting part, though, is how they plan on filming it. The competition itself will be filmed in the 7,000 seat Macom Coliseum in Georgia. However, those 7,000 seats will remain empty due to Covid-19. Instead, the show will be implementing a tailgate party atmosphere, where the show will be streamed drive-in style and people can cheer (and honk) for their favorite acts from the safety of their car.
“Go-Big Show celebrates unique, untraditional and unforgettable American talent,” said Corie Henson, EVP and head of unscripted programming for TBS, TNT and truTV. “Each contestant brings tremendous heart and swagger, which also perfectly describes Bert and our judges, a dream team of larger-than-life talent.”
“We are going bigger and bolder with our unscripted line-up at TBS to provide more of the content that viewers love from our platform,” added Brett Weitz, General Manager, TNT, TBS and truTV. “Go-Big Show not only delivers on this promise with a thrilling new take on talent competition, but it’s also another example of our innovative spirit as we continue to create brand-defining, must-watch television.”
The series is taping now, with an air date expected in 2021.
