That 70’s Show was the perfect amount of nostalgia mixed with parody that audiences needed in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Enough time had passed that it didn’t seem forced, while it also wasn’t so distant that it was hard to remember. And as crazy as it is to think about, everything has come full circle and the 90’s are somehow producing the same result.
Of course, that makes it the perfect time for a reboot of That 70’s Show. That 90’s Show is currently in the works at Netflix. The new series will shift away from the kids – two of whom arguably would run the price of any reboot way up – and focus on the parents Red and Kitty Forman, played by Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp. The new show “follows Leia Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna, who is visiting her grandparents for the summer and bonds with a new generation of Point Place kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red.”
The show has been picked up for 10 episodes, and there’s even potential for guest appearances by some other cast members from That 70’s Show.
