As everyone knows by now, Bob Saget died yesterday at the age of 65. What some people may not have realized until news broke yesterday was just how many examples there are of what a generous and genuine guy Saget was. We’ve compiled some members of the comedy community – and those he worked with – sharing their favorite stories of the comedian and actor.

Bob you were a higher being. You understood what was truly important in life more than anyone I ever met. You were a gift. RIP @bobsaget

Nice guys DO finish first. Beyond his considerable talents, Bob Saget was a kind and gentle presence that always made every one in the room feel at ease. A sweeter man there never was. And a wicked sense of humor that would make you howl with laughter.

Today, in honor of our Bob Saget, let’s all say something filthy with a big warm smile. There was something like love behind every gnarly joke, all in service of a big, healing laugh.

Beautiful Bob Saget passed away today at 65. He had a big, big heart and a wonderfully warped comic mind. He gave the world a lot of joy and lived his life for goodness’ sake. :’^} pic.twitter.com/QVSITsfaVj

Still in shock. I just spoke with Bob a few days ago. We stayed on the phone as usual making each other laugh. RIP to friend, comedian & fellow Aristocrat Bob Saget. pic.twitter.com/TDKT8JoULq

Bob Saget was funny and kind, but also, let’s not forgot, for people my age, he was the original Hot Dad. It’s not important but it’s true

I’m shocked and saddened to learn that Bob Saget is gone. A great friend and one of the funniest and sweetest people I have ever known. My love to his beautiful family.

Bob Saget. Deeply shocked and saddened today. Thought i would see him down the road. Loved him onstage and off. So filthy and yet so sweet. I wonder what he would have to say today. He'd have nailed it. I will miss all the laughs he gave me.

Bob Saget was as lovely a human as he was funny. And to my mind, he was hilarious. We were close friends and I could not have loved him more. pic.twitter.com/TM8r1hzCfO

I know that people lose loved ones, good people, every day. No one gets a pass. But the loss of Bob Saget hits deep. If you didn’t know him, he was kind and dear and cared about people deeply. He was the definition of “a good egg”. Too soon he leaves. #RipBobSaget

His daughters and wife can find peace in how beloved @bobsaget was as a human. He always respected women and I will always respect him. We’ll miss you, Bob. pic.twitter.com/3gfRWY9iQz

God bless my dear friend & colleague, @bobsaget .
Funny, nice, great father & friend. For years, he had a comedy show to raise funds for scleroderma, a horrible disease his sister passed away from, far too young. Everyone helped. We all loved Bob. pic.twitter.com/5Q8RdLHMz4— Jon Lovitz (@realjonlovitz) January 10, 2022
I spent a lot of time with Bob Saget early on in my career. He was hilarious and very sweet. This is so sad. Sending love to his family.

Bob Saget was more than a friend. He was a big brother to me. Nobody ever made me laugh harder, the kind of laughter where your ribs are sore the next day. He was also a wonderful human being who never missed a chance to say "I love you" to the people he cared about. 💔

Even though it was a hard time @bobsaget told story after story the day robin died. I will never forget the gift of spending time with Sag that night. I will always cherish the first chat we ever had too. From the start he was a kind hearted friend. pic.twitter.com/Izk3teHrys

RIP Bob Saget. Everything I start to write about him just feels inadequate. He is universally loved. I am so grateful he was my friend.

Bob was at my house in October interviewing me for a documentary. He was sharp and dark and funny as always and we were gonna catch up over coffee when he was done editing and now I’m crying FUCK #RIPBobSaget pic.twitter.com/wgrp3cOXGE

Four decades of friendship. Had Thanksgiving with Bob once when we were coming up. He cooked the turkey but had no idea you were supposed to take the innards out. We completely lost it. Do us a favor Bob and stay outta hell so we can talk shit again someday. Love you, my friend. pic.twitter.com/CTXQrGYiT5

I have a Bob Saget story to share.
I never really met him. But in 2007 Guster was playing at the Boston Opera House. We noticed that Saget was performing a sold out show at the Orpheum down the street, and we thought it’d be funny to invite him to appear on stage with us…

I am so sad at the death of Bob Saget. I hadn't seen him in years but he was a beautiful part of the comedy family. May his memory be a blessing to his family and friends. May he rest in peace and may his rebellious spirit live on.

Bob Saget was so kind and when you spent time with him he made you laugh hard. He loved to be funny and he was hysterical. He was also there for everyone. A beautiful soul. pic.twitter.com/jQuv5cAkuT
