“The Daily Show” tries out new correspondent…Olivia Munn

June 7, 2010      Matt      News, Television, The Daily Show

Seems like The Daily Show is trying the ol’ “bring in the hot girl” routine. Last night they introduced a special correspondent, and that correspondent was resident subject of geek and fanboy droolery Olivia Munn.

The Attack Of The Show co-host was brought in what TDS producers called a “try out” and there are plans for her to tape some more segments in the future.

This isn’t the first time TDS has done something like this often testing people for the position. This is probably newsworthy because Munn has the highest profile of previous tryers-out. She’s probably the only one that has ever graced the cover of Maxim. Then again, there could have been a special edition that featured Steve Carell.

Shockingly, we do have a few critiques of Munn’s debut. First, what was she wearing? It just didn’t seem like the appropriate correspondent outfit of “suity,” hell, it didn’t even yell “slutty,” it read “hey I just got here oh oh, I have no wardrobe? Okay I’ll wear my street clothes.” Also, was it us or did she need to read from that piece of paper more than usual? The rest of the correspondents with her weren’t using paper for their lines. While on the subject of other correspondents…if you need that many in there to help you out with the comedy, you might have to work on your delivery. All-in-all it’s wasn’t a bad appearance, just not an amazing one either.

We’ll give this bit a B+ more because of the hilarity of the other correspondents rather than Olivia herself.
