Some people have fantasy football, we have fantasy television. Well, we don’t pick teams and make trades and such, but we do try to predict outcomes. Since the 2012 television season is upon us it’s time to check out a slew of new shows. So let’s get into the evaluation process for the 2012 season.
NBC has the title of most new sitcoms this season. With the threat of many of its aging and ratings-starved sitcoms on the way out, it’s no wonder they’re trying to get something to stick with watchers. FOX and ABC are somewhere in the middle, making moves to build on its tentpole sitcoms and try to make bigger nights around the successes of shows like New Girl and Modern Family. This leaves CBS which, well is pretty strong across the board. They didn’t really go crazy with the new sitcoms. Besides How I Met Your Mother potentially bowing out at season’s end CBS only really worked timeslot shifts, putting the juggernaut Two And A Half Men on Thursday nights to mix it up with The Big Bang Theory and sweat NBC’s Thursday night comedy block a bit more.
What has the best chances of sticking around? What’s on the bubble? What’s dead in the water?
