Everything will continue to be awesome! Comedy genius Ron Schrab is set to direct the upcoming The Lego Movie Sequel. Schrab has directed episodes of The Mindy Project and Parks and Recreation. He was a writer, director, and executive producer for The Sarah Silverman Program. The film set for release in 2018 will be Schrab’s feature directional debut. The sequel is based on a story by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Jared Stern, and Michelle Morgan. Miller, who wrote and directed The Lego Movie, will also produce along with Lord, Dan Lin, and Roy Lee. “We are so excited to collaborate with Rob,” Lord and Miller said. “He is a comedy genius, a visual savant, and we have been stalking him for years. No one works harder than Rob, and his aesthetic, combined with his sense of humor, brings a strong, unique, thoughtful, and passionately nerdy voice to this project. People who know him are slapping their foreheads today and saying, ‘Of course!'” Together with long-time friend Community creator Dan Harmon, Schrab wrote the pilot of Heat Vision and Jack and the screenplay for the film Monster House. The studio has yet to set a specific date for its release, it’s rumored to probably hit theaters in 2018.
