The release of the long-awaited McGruber TV series is imminent. After being in development for years we’re finally going to get more of the Saturday Night Live sketch, turned Hollywood movie, turned streaming TV series.
The series picks up ten years later and America’s ultimate hero and uber patriot MacGrumber (Will Forte) has been rotting in away in prison and as the official series synopsis states, “Upon his release he’s tasked with the mission to take down a mysterious villain from his past—Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth (Billy Zane). With the entire world in the crosshairs, MacGruber must reassemble his old team, Vicki St. Elmo (Kristen Wiig) and Dixon Piper (Ryan Phillippe), in order to defeat the forces of evil.”
Peacock released a teaser of the new series through a fun clip where the show’s titular hero drops an interview from jail.
MacGruber starts streaming on Peacock December 16th where you can also watch the movie.
