Father’s Day is coming up this Sunday. (Don’t worry. You still have another 2 days to forget about it until the night before at 9 P.M.). And to help celebrate, the National Comedy Center in Jamestown, New York has announced some special tributes to funny fathers.
First up is a tribute to Desi Arnaz. Hosted by David Bianculli, the event will feature a panel made up of Arnaz’s children, Lucie Arnaz and Oscar Nunez. Of note, in addition to starring on and producing I Love Lucy, he also helped create the traditional sitcom 3 camera set-up. This happening on this Friday at 8pm ET.
Then we are celebrating the recently deceased Jerry Stiller. Hosted by Judy Gold, this panel will feature Ben Stiller and Amy Stiller sharing memories about their dad. It’s never too early to get your Festivus decorations out after all! This is taking place on this Saturday at 8pm ET.
Up next, it’s time to Silly Walk with a conversation with John Cleese and his daughter stand-up comedian Camilla Cleese, moderated by Harrison Greenbaum. Please leave all dead parrots at home. This conversation is happening this Saturday at 9:30pm ET.
Finally, it’s Richard Pryor’s tribute. The comedy icon/pioneer is definitely deserving of this tribute, which will feature a talk with his daughter Rain Pryor and comedian W. Kamau Bell. That happens on Sunday at 7pm ET.
This event will be broadcast for free on the center’s website all weekend long.
