I think a perfect storm of funny-meets-geek just landed across the internets…
Ellie Kemper, the comedic actress who plays cute, quirky, and bubbly receptionist Erin Hannon on The Office is going to write a book. And not just any book, a comic book! Hear that? It’s the sound of fanboys across the web’s collective minds exploding. Funny, attractive women who dig comic books!?
Ellie will be writing the book with her sister, Carrie, who is a new staff writer for The Office. Three Rivers Press, an imprint of Crown Publishing said it had acquired the book, tentatively titled Monday Sessions, in which Ellie and Carrie Kemper chronicle a fictitious Manhattan psychiatrist named Dr. Amy Rice through her diary entries and patient files. The comic isn’t expected to hit stores until 2012.
The duo have apparently collaborated on projects their entire life including a short clip called “The Man Under The Stairs” which they filmed when they were young living in their hometown of St. Louis. And as the internet will always prove that embarrassing things are tough to keep quiet, a clip of said video is on YouTube
Ellie, while we’re on the topic of videos done by great female comedy writers, we’re still waiting for the follow-up video from Subtle Sexuality over here.
