Last year, we all piled into the Comedy Cellar at The Village Underground in NYC to witness what was easily the funniest evening of stand-up comedy witnessed, well probably ever, the Roast of Rich Vos. And we’re not using hyperbole, the Roast of Rich Vos was talked about for weeks afterward. The crowd, full of industry folks, fans, and other comedians. While the dais was packed with a lot of Vos’ close comedian friends – Robert Kelly, Joe DeRosa, Luis J. Gomez (filling in for Keith Robinson, who at the time was recovering from a stroke), Jim Florentine, Colin Quinn, Judy Gold, and Big Jay Oakerson. Vos’ wife Bonnie McFarlane was the roastmaster of the evening which was a celebration of Rich’s birthday.
The evening was electric, lightning in a bottle. It was the type of roast that’s only possible when literally every person on the dais were the best of friends with the only goal to write and deliver the most biting jokes they could think of. Each passing comedian made you wonder how the next could tom them – Jim Florentine would level the room, leaving you to wonder how Big Jay Oakerson could follow and he’d annihilate. Truly a special evening.
A camera crew was on hand to film the evening and now you can rent or purchase the Roast of Rich Vos. All you have to do is visit www.vosroast.com and get a copy.
