Bridget Everett is one of those performers we imagine would’ve broken out by now as more of a household name. Of course, us comedy savvy folks have been familiar with her for years. But for whatever reason, there’s still a slight underground feeling about her. That may change with the release of the new HBO series, Somebody Somewhere.
In the series, Everett plays Sam “a true Kansan on the surface, but, beneath it all, struggling to fit the hometown mold. Grappling with loss and acceptance, singing is Sam’s saving grace and leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who don’t fit in but don’t give up, showing that finding your people, and finding your voice, is possible. Anywhere. Somewhere.”
Joining Everett in the series – which was co-created by Hannah Bos & Paul Thureen – is Jeff Hiller, Mary Catherine Garrison,Danny McCarthy, and Mike Haggerty.
Somebody Somewhere hits HBO on January 16th.
