When you have a show that is as popular as Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is with fans and critics alike, it should come as no surprise that people would be wanting more. Well, last year, after only a year since the show wrapped up its fourth and final season, they announced they would be doing a final movie on Netflix.
It wouldn’t be a typical movie. It would be an interactive movie. This utilities a video game tactic, where you as the viewer gets to choose the path that the character goes down. While Black Mirror was the first feature film to get the Netflix interactive treatment, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is the first comedy.
As far as the plot itself goes, very little is known, although we know the title is Kimmy vs. The Reverend and it features cameo appearances by Daniel Radcliffe, Chris Parnell, Jack McBrayer, and Johnny Knoxville, with Jon Hamm returning as the reverend. We know that it will involve Kimmy’s wedding, which she has to put on hold while she goes and tries to stop the reverend from his latest plan.
The film debuts on Netflix on May 12th. Check out the first teaser trailer for the special below.
