This Week in Comedy: “Barry” returns for a final season
April 10, 2023 Andrew Buss News, This Week In Comedy
This Week in Comedy: HBO’s Barry is coming back for a final season. The Bill Hader starring series has been a hit with both fans and critics, but the creators are ending it with season four to ensure it goes out on a high note. After a suspenseful third season finale, we can’t wait to see what they come up with for the hitman-turned-actor.
Also this week, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is back for one last season. Like Barry, the show has also built up a following with both critics and fans, as the show follows a female comedian in the 1950’s trying to make a name for herself. This time around, “Midge finds herself closer than ever to the success she’s dreamed of, only to discover that closer than ever is still so far away.”
And finally, A Black Lady Sketch Show is also making its return to HBO this week. The sketch show – created by and starring Robin Thede – will feature new cast members and a slew of recognizable guest stars including Issa Rae, Tracee Ellis Ross, Colman Domingo, Bobby Brown, Kyla Pratt, Omarion, Sam Richardson, Jackée Harry, Yvette Nicole Brown and more.
