This Week In Comedy: After a few years in development, Chad is coming to TBS. The new single-camera sitcom, which stars Nasim Pedrad, follows “a 14-year-old pubescent Persian boy (Pedrad) as he navigates his first year of high school on a mission to become popular. Chad’s friendships and sanity are pushed to the limits as he uses every tactic at his disposal to befriend the cool kids, while enduring his mother’s new dating life and reconciling with his cultural identity.”
Also this week, Topher Grace, Caitlin McGee, Jimmy Tatro, and Sasheer Zamata star in a new ABC comedy. Home Economics explores three siblings who are currently in three different financial settings: one is in the 1%, the other is in the middle, and the third one is hanging on by a thread. The series is created and executive produced by Michael Colton. Home Economics debuts Wednesday on ABC.
Plus, Phoebe Robinson is Doing The Most. In her new talk show on Comedy Central, Robinson engages in conversations with celebrities both in and out of the studio. Celebrity guests include Whitney Cummings, The Property Brothers, Tan France, Ashley Graham, Hasan Minhaj, Eric Nam, Amber Ruffin, Dulcé Sloan, Gabrielle Union, and even a conversation on a high ropes course with Kevin Bacon.
And finally, No Activity is coming back for season four. Making the gradual leap from CBS All Access to the newly launched Paramount+, this season also has another surprise. In a post-COVID era where it’s easier to produce an animated series rather than having dozens of people in close quarters on a film set, season four of the comedic stakeout series, which stars Tim Meadows and Patrick Brammall, is entirely animated. No Activity returns to the scene of the crime on Thursday.
